View Full Version : Busperone questions
Hi--I began taking this 5 days ago at 5mg 3 times a day. The first 2 days, I had some nausea and dizziness but felt calm. Today, I feel more anxious than usual.
Can this cause a person to feel worse before it gets better? I was told it would take a week or 2 to begin to see results.
Thank you.

The dizziness is common with buspar and like ssri's it may make you a bit anxious before finally making you less anxious.

Thank you--my doctor's office told me today it was most likely the med kicking in. My other side effects are about gone, so hopefully that is the case.
My first 3 weeks i had a huge increase in symptoms . No new ones just felt them more . After that they faded away .
Increased anxiety from meds is super common and i guess a reason many don't like them . Sort of understandable that you don't want to
take something that may make you worst in the short term .
cheers kev :)
Thanks kev--are you satisfied with the med now?

Hey star.
My doc put me on that med and it was driving me crazy. My anxiety was through the roof and I was ready to fall down from the dizzies. He took me off that and put me on xanax instead. Hope it works for you though!

I felt super weird and 'off' for the first week I was on buspar. Then it went away and I felt normal, but with less anxiety. About a month later I started getting digestive side effects and they stopped working.
