Hi, my name is Marta and I've always been a somewhat anxious person. I haven't really been able to put my finger on it, but I just easily feel worried, and have been extremely depressed during certain periods.
I've never gotten any professional help as I felt it's stigmatised in my family (even though my mother too seems to suffer from anxiety), but in recent years I seem to have managed myself and I just try to stay positive and not get myself down.

I would lie if I said that my anxiety is the main reason for registering to this forum; I'm a graphic arts student and I'm currently working on a visual booklet, where I want to inform the general public about how fear can control you - this goes for phobias and anxiety too - how it can paralyse you in certain situations or become an obstacle in life. I want to highlight that things that may seem trivial or small to most people can be terrifying to some, or that simply it's the general opinion that you should keep certain things to yourself.

I hope I don't come off as too cheeky, or that I'm offending anyone, but I was wondering if perhaps some of you reading this would like to share your story?
It will be completely anonymous (unless you want otherwise), and it can be as short, long, specific, none-specific as you want it to be.
These stories will be part of a bigger picture, instead of being just "pure" text.
If you want to know more, or contribute, you can either PM me or send an e-mail to mb7g11 (at) soton.ac.uk.

I appreciate every contribution! :)
