I'm not always overwhelmed with anxiety, but I have hard times such as tonight when I decided to look up forums at 12:30am.....

So about me! I'm 27 going on 28 this year and have had 3 children ( I say have had cause my first born is not with me I gave her up for adoption (please don't judge me on just that) open adoption when I was a teen. ) I have 2 boys 3-7 at home and a great husband. I guess I started noticing my anxiety after I had my second child! I bake and decorate cakes have had some culinary arts training, my husband works on a drilling rig as a driller, my oldest son is artistic, and my youngest is carefree so far little daredevil....

Hi Monica,
So nice to meet another mum as I felt I was a bit different from the rest of the guys here. I am 45 (but a very young-looking 45 yr old), who acts even younger. I am married and have 2 gorgeous kids, a boy (5) and a girl (3) as I was anxious about whether I could handle the responsibilities of being a mum and also enjoyed travelling with my hubby, so we had our kids a bit later. Best thing I ever did, as I love my kids so much, but the anxiety has come out again after my kids - as I worry about them all the time and compare myself to how other mother's cope and feel judged and that I shld be better at it than most others as I am older etc. My own upbringing was pretty appalling as not only were my parents poor, but negligent and ignorant, e.g. discouraging study or travel or experience and very judgemental and anxious themselves so I grew up in an anxious and extremly UN-RELAXED environment and it's hard to shake off that influence. Even though now I am very comfortable, completed a degree and married a lawyer...deep-down I still feel like the poor lost little girl who had hopeless parents and all our relatives felt sorry for...I cannot seem to shake off that experience. Is your anxiety anything to do wtih your upbringing?? Anyways, thanks for listening and I hope I can help you in some way. Cheers, Marsgirl
