Hey guys,

I've been on cipralex for 6 months now after having panic attacks and depression, i'm feeling much better nowadays but my doctor told me to take one pill 10mg every two days. i'm reading all the articles and posts of people withdrawing from cipralex and this is making me scared :S can anyone tell me what to do to minimize the symptoms of withdrawal ? Scared of getting anxious thoughts again and feeling depressed thanks guys your help is needed :)

The only way to minimize withdrawal is to come off the drug REALLY slowly.

Hey Robbed,

I wanted to ask you about sex drive i just feel like a tree man :S and this is making me feel worse. Does this pass by time ? Am i going to get my sex drive back ?

I've actually never taken any antidepressants. So I can't comment on this from experience. However, from what I have heard, this passes with time. Just keep in mind that, for SOME people, it can take several months for sex drive to return to normal. But this isn't to say that this will be the situation for you.

Hi Garen! I always find that sex drive comes back within a few days of being completely off of any SSRI. I was recently taking Ciprolex 10mg and stupidly made the decision to quit cold turkey, mainly because I started a new relationship and thought I was fine. Within three days things were back to normal, and that's been the case with Effexor XR and Paxil as well. I'm 27, if that makes any difference. Hope this helps!

I have been on cipralex 10mg for two years and have recently reduced the dosage to 5mg a day with no side effects. Having visited my doctor today she advised me that it would be better to come off the dosage altogether now it is only 5mg than to take it randomely as this will cause me to have a see saw effect of moods than rather go the whole way and come off completely.
