Has anyone got any advise about finding a good reliable psychologist, therapist or someone who specialises in hypnosis? Anxiety disorder has ruined my life, can't move on until I have found some proper help. Also, I wonder does anybody have any good tips to stop feeling sick? Any advise would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, therapists are not really rated in any way. It's not like there's a Consumer Report for psychologists. Really, the only way you can make a choice beforehand who to see is by word of mouth. But that means you would have to know someone who has seen a psychologist - and is willing to admit it. Unfortunately, you will probably just have to try at least a few therapists before you find someone you can actually work with.

it all depends on if you have health insurance or if you can afford one of your own. if you have health insurance call your provider and ask for one that specializes in disorders or just a therapist. sometimes just having someoone to spill your guts out to is great relief.

Thank you for replies.
Am only 21 so don't have any health insurance. I will have to just look about and do some research I guess.

Don't forget the self-help route, either. We are so often led to believe that we cannot possibly help ourselves when it comes to conditions like anxiety disorder. But this is simply not true. In fact, it seems like most people who successfully overcome anxiety disorder do so on their own. And one of the best things about self-help is that it won't break the bank.

hmmm looks like we have a different take on this issue. I never seem to agree with you forwell why? lol. but belle whatever works for you is ok to try. i just know that i hate bothering my family with my issues and dont want to frustrate them even though i know they will listen. I know alot of you guys know what im talking about. I just feel better speaking to someone who will just listen to me about how bad it is with me. I can never tell my friends and family the extent of how this is affecting me. its like i dont want to feel like they have to worry about me as im use to my anxiety. If you have someone you can go to bell then talk to that person. if not get a therapist if you can who you are comfortable with and vent. its good for the soul. :)

Thank you so much for all your advise :)
Its quite comforting to hear that people have got over anxiety disorders just by self help. Does anyone know any websites for self help? I'm with lifeconfusion when it comes to opening up to those who are closest to you, I just can't seem to do it, I go to talk about it but nothing comes out my mouth! I always think my mum would just tell me to stop being so stupid. Talk to my best friend about it but she has no idea quite how bad it is. I just want it all to go away, I'd do and give anything to just feel "normal"
