My mom hurt her hip a few months ago which then hurt her back because she fell. she is 59 years old. Her blood pressure rose highly when she stayed in the hospital for a week and now the doctors have her on lopressor. But ever since she's been home, shes been getting anxiety attacks periodically during the day and night. And it scares her and me i admit. I just want to know are there any tips to help her besides the doctors giving her valume. she hates taking meds that make you "high" but if its the only thing that will help her then I want to be able to advise her to keep taking them. Help please!

Sorry your mom has to go thru this. looks like the fall has tramatized her and she is not taking it well. Talk to your mom about what she thinks about what happened to her and if she is worried about her health. Try to get your mom some counseling. geez drs are so quick to give meds sometimes. Not saying your mom dont need it but its always meds first then treatment with some of these drs. there are some all natural remedies to help with the anxiety like kava kava and chamomile tea. there not cure alls but it helps. also, have your mom eat some watermelon, it is good for lowering blood pressure. hope this helps
