I met a wonderful woman and we fell in love quickly. The engagement was just a few months after we were dating. She asked me to stay at her house so I am living there and away from my country home (an hour away) and am living in a sub division. I had a panic attack and she responded in an angry way and withdrew. She said she had delt with people with anxiety in the past and they always lashed out at her. Once we worked through that issue she said she would support me in anything.
Now I am having anxiety all the time at a low level with near panic episodes. I have been on effexor for years and have ativan when needed (I have not taken it for years until recently) I am wondering if this is happening because of all the changes or if deep down I feel something is wrong with the relationship. I have been through two painful divorces and my father died suddenly while I was a teen and think my issue is with a fear of abandonment. Looking back I can always remember having anxiety. It seems worse after vacation, when recovering from a cold or in a relationship that I don't feel secure in) I would appreciate any advice. Is the only help available Meds that you have to stay on for life? or is there hope that you can recover without meds? I am also trying a product called natural calm, that is a Magnesium supplement, any advice on this would also be appreciated......Thank You
