I have started taking celexa 3 days ago........It makes me VERY tired!! I am going to have to move it before bed... has anyone else had this side effect?

Lots of people have. Drowsiness is one of the most common side effects of SSRI/SNRI antidepressants.

Thanks for the replies! I am only going to be on this drug for about 6 months.. Its to give me time to figure things out, assure me that it is really only anxiety. I will make my way back to the gym slowly and back to feeling comfortable by myself. I most defintly dont want to become dependent on this medicine! Agian Thanks!!

I've been on 10mg's for 8 weeks now of celexa. Not sure if it's helping. Only side effects is drowiness & dry mouth. I'm on same game plan as you, to take for 6 months to get through this tough time (nothing really happened, I just developed general anxiety disorder pretty bad). I'm afraid to have the dr increase dose, because I don't want to become dependant. It took a good 6 weeks to feel any difference & even still it's very slight.

I just started taking the generic of celexa 4 days ago. I've had several instances of euphoria, and wake up really early and feel kind of giddy, not sure if it is hypomania or what. Today I had a very *frightening* experience on it--where I had a sudden panic attack and was very confused. I couldn't remember what day it was (monday) and if I was doing the right thing on that day. Is this normal? It was scary. I called the doctor and he told me to stop taking it. (I also had more coffee then usual, since I was trying to get some work done and can't stand this feeling spacey... Help! Is this normal? has anyone had this experience?! Thanks.
