I was put on celexa a couple days ago for my anxiety... they said it will take about 2 weeks to work. Has anyone had luck on this med?

Hi Melmoe, I was put on 10mgs of celexa about 7 weeks ago. I didn't see or feel a difference until the 6 week point. You definitly have to give it time. I do feel better but not great, so I may eventually have my dr increase the dose. I had no side effects, accept for drowiness (so I take at night) & dry mouth.

I have taken Celexa for seven years now. I'm on 40mgs right now. A few years I was on 60mgs. I mostly feel it's effects for depression. Without these meds I'm a completely different person, so crippled by symptoms that I can't even get out of bed. If you're taking a low dose you probably won't feel too many side effects. My main side effects are fatigue and feeling a bit like a zombie (because I am on such a high dose for my body size). My sister also takes 20mgs for anxiety and she feels a major difference in her ability to get through the day.
