Hey there,

I'm Garen from Lebanon male 23 year old. I recently had a few symptoms of axniety and started medication 3 months ago ( Cipralex 10mg ) at first it really SUCKED but now i'm feeling much much better. The only thing that is really annoying me lately is that i have these negative and unpleasant thoughts of turning to schizophrenic or having a psychotic problem or disorder. There's no one in my family with such a disorder neither schizophrenia nor psychosis but i'm really scared of turning my anxiety to these disorders. Is this normal ? i'm even scared of hallucinating or having delusions i really need your help guys and thanks a lot.

Best regards,

Garen,

Garen

There is no reason whatsoever why your current anxiety would cause psychosis or turn into schizophrenia. It is normal to be scared and worried about things when you are anxious. You just have to work your a** off when it comes to getting better and these thoughts will all become much more manageable and under control. Are you seein a counsellor/therapist? If not this may help you uderstand your anxiety better and help you control negative thoughts.

Garen, rest assured this is just from anxiety. Psychotics never wonder if they are so. Often anxious folks will worry over this type of thing(I did) as well as general health issues or other things. This is all from anxiety which just excessive worry. As you become educated on anxiety you will see common scenarios like this and it will help to get educated so you understand this is common. In time after getting calmed down and in a better place mentally you will come to accept this. I do and know that it's just anxiety playing it's not so funny game. But once your "on to" it's game(common scenarios anxious people often face) you'll feel better about it all. You'll know it's just anxiety.......just worried about things and that you must remember to try not to pay too much attention to. You must come to just plain better understand it. Keep on the cipralex. PM me any time. Alankay
