Hi. Ladybug ! I have health related anxiety but a think i can relate to your agraphobia slightly ! I know the feeling of dreading the outside world, of feeling that you are only safe if you stay put and bunker down. I have had episode of this but i found staying in and not ventureing out for a few days increased the anxiety and built the whole situiation up in my mind. I know you must be told by friends and family that you need to snap out of it but i know its not that simple, i found if i planned a trip out in my head over and over then i would get really anxious about it, if i had somewere i had to be the next day then i would have a sleepless night thinking of all the possible situations that could arise. After my son has born a realised if i wanted to be a part of his life and be there for him i would have to sort it out. So in the end i just didnt think of having to go anywere untill i was getting ready and leaveing the house, even then i tryed not to think to far ahead. At first it was " ok im in the car now what , then it was ok i have to go here and do this , then before you realise you are getting up and just going before you over think and try imaging all the possable things that could happen ! After a while you will think what was i worried about. Reading this wont cure you, i know that but all i am sayin is you need to find your own way of dealing with it, for me it was for my son but you need to find your own motivation ! Trust me its fixable, its got a lot to do with confidence try sorting that out first ! Good luck take care and remember its all fixable one way or another !

Hi Ladybug,
I think you'll find loads of people on the forum who can relate to agrophobia. Mine came on gradually as it just became to scary to deal with strangers and I felt like everyone was staring at me. But there is hope, there is a way forward. Have you considered CBT?
Hope you feel better soon.
