Well it's quite difficult, especially when you're feeling anxious at first. But it also depends a great deal on what kind of anxiety you're feeling.

When I first developed anxiety, it wasn't subtle at all, it was very intense and obvious and I was just panicking all the time, I thought I'd never find a way to over come the panic that was repeating in my head for months, but slowly I stopped caring about it as much anymore as I got used to it, and as I stopped caring about it, I realized the anxiety started to fade. It was just like, I knew I was feeling anxious but there was nothing I could do about it so I just did something else, went to hang with some friends or do some work. Eventually it faded to a point that I didn't even notice it anymore. Another thing that I believe helped me a lot was magnesium supplements, I started taking them once a day at some point and I noticed within a month my anxiety had calmed down a lot.

Also on days when you're feeling especially anxious, find a way to distract your mind, exercise and go out to the real world and realize that things are not as bad as your head makes them out to be.

So my suggestion is, just don't focus on it, don't feed it. It's difficult, but distraction is the best. Simply know that anxiety cannot harm you and no feeling lasts for that long and it doesn't really matter that much if you're feeling anxious or down for a bit.
