Hello all

Hope all ok.

It is tough to be dealing with panic and anxiety. I have suffered since childhood, but not diagnosed until five years ago.

I am on citolapram for anxiety.

I have problems with people and jobs. Understand all that everyone is going through. I am currently attempting to write a book to tell tips on overcoming anxiety and would appreciate not only for book but also for me on any tips anyone has found that help them.

I normally flee the situation. I used to get panic attacks at work until I had to give up the job. It was very social and I couldn't really deal with the chat.

My best technique is to lie down and breathe in a quiet room. Don't seem to have found one when surrounded by people.

I keep pushing myself to do more and get out. I am lucky cos I have got a good family and a few close friends, but at one stage recently when I was struggling at work I couldn't even get out to go shopping in town.

I have recovered from that after some counselling which helped address my reasons for panicking and my reactions to others.

Be interested to hear others experiences and particularly how you calm yourself down.

Take care

Thanks Kev

Have got to that stage. Accepted it is part of me and been having counselling to help overcome thoughts I have that create panic for me. Also feel once I confront situations which I think I won't be able to cope with and find it works for me, I become stronger.

Cheers

Welcome!!

I like to listen music and sit in my car and stare at the beach when i can. I just seems to calm be down, but I realize not everyone has that option. I can tell you that I don't go any where with out my i pod because music means a lot to me and it can take me a way to a happy place. Good Luck with the book!!

I find cyling outdoors helps or covering myself in a blanket and watching tv ( for some reason cookery programmes seems to help!). Neither of these things take away the problems I am worrying about but they ease the anxiety for that moment.
