Well I am 24 years old my name is Brandon I have not been diagnosed with anxiety but I am positive its the cause for my life being the way it is. Im not sure what to do really. I worry constantly, mostly about if I am going to be ok or if something serious is wrong with me. I guess I will start by listing my symptoms from the list you guys have on here. When I feel anxious or feel panic coming on I try to do the deep breathing exercises I read about but it seems to make it worse like I am going to pass out even more. I mostly get nervous when there is a confrontation or I am going somewhere that I know the trip would be ruined if I had a anxiety attack. It is really hard to talk to people about it because they looks at me weird and ask well why do you feel that way? Thats one of the scariest things. I DON'T KNOW! I have no idea what triggered it or how I got into this mindset but I desperately want out. It has become so bad its running my life.

Here are the symptoms I get...

Chronic Fatigue
Excess of energy, you feel you can’t relax
Feel like you are going to pass out or faint
Feeling cold or chilled
Hyperactivity, excess energy
Increased or decreased sex drive
Muscle twitching
Neck, back, shoulder pain, tightness/stiffness
Numbness or tingling in hands, feet, face, head, or any other places on the body
Persistent muscle tension, stiffness
Sore or tight scalp or back of the neck
Urgency to urinate, frequent urination, sudden urge to go to the washroom <<<This one especially along with stomach cramps

Sweating, uncontrollable profuse sweating
Weak legs, arms, or muscles
Having difficulty concentrating
A ‘tinny’, ‘metallic’ or ‘ammonia’, or unusual smell or taste
Nausea or abdominal stress
Tight throat, lump in throat
Frequent upset stomach, bloating, gaseous

I would say the ones that effect me the most is feeling like in going to pass out, sweating, feeling out of body, stomach pain and the need to go to the bathroom.

Thanks for reading. I really hope that talking with others who have the same symptoms will help me out.

Dude Brandon,

I've been there buddy and know all too well about the symptoms you've listed here. You have a ton of things listed here, but I'm going to try and help you understand what is making your anxiety worse.

First, you stated you're hyperactive/excess energy. I bet you find it extremely hard to shut your mind off, I say this because you stated you have difficulty concentrating? Do you talk fast, drive fast, walk fast, eat fast without even knowing it? I did and it was my internal metronome just clicking at too fast of a pace. If this is the case, you need to make a concerted effort to slow down. purposely walk slower, talk slower, eat slower and this will allow your body to rest as well as allow you to finally breath!

Second, when you are fearful of your anxiety popping up in certain situations, that is one way to have that bastard anxiety come quicker! Anxiety and panic attacks has a way of making the sufferer feel powerless and DON'T LET IT! You have all the power in the world buddy you just have to start building that confidence up again. You have to get control of those negative thoughts before they take hold in your mind and produce an attack.

And research, research, research! Your 24 dude I serously doubt you're in poor health (unless a Dr. has stated otherwise?) so you need to know how anxiety affects the body. Your mind has huge power over your body. Ever heard of fight or flight response?

Say we're cavemen again and we are on a hunt and encounter a sabertooth tiger in our way. Your heart starts to race, your breathing becomes shallow and quicker, muscles tense, you begin to sweat... Why? Because your mind has determined a threat and produced adrenaline for your flight or fight response! So what you're experiencing is this response of the involuntary nervous system, without the tiger.

Research on involuntary nervous system and what organs and body functions are affected by adrenaline. You may be surprised that it sounds similar to what you described in your symptoms. You then need to determine how best to shut this response off for you.

There is a ton more to say but I hope this helps and always feel free to contact me more with specific questions.

Eric

It always helps to read others responses with the same problems. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I understand what is happening I just cant figure out why exactly and how to stop it. Everyone says find what works best for you but so far nothing has worked....

Seems like there is a lot of threads on here unanswered. I am wondering if this forum is just full of people searching for help and only a couple people that are able to help....
