Hi i get anxiety that causes me to struggle to sleep for days. Im on Citalopram 30mg (which has sorted the sleep) a day but I have gained about 25 pounds. I am seeing my doctor tonight and I want to change to something that is good for the insomnia/anxiety but doesnt cause serious weight gain. I box and do not want to put too much weight on for obvious reasons.
Any help is much appreciated.

'Results may vary' is a line that should be used with all antidepressants. This is true whether we are talking about either efficacy or side effects. For instance, with ALL SSRIs/SNRIs, weight gain is a possible side effect. But some people are more likely to gain weight with a given drug than others. Only experimentation can tell you which particular drug might not cause weight gain for you. Some SSRIs may be less likely to cause insomnia (like Paxil, for instance). However, those SSRIs that are less likely to cause insomnia often cause daytime drowsiness.
