I am almost 66 and have had bouts of depression most of my life. I took Prozac for 10 years without incident when I was younger. For the past two years I have had horrible anxiety. Finally I went for some treatment and requested that I be put on Buspar. I had reviewed the drug and it seemed to have little or no side effects.........well at least for most of the population - me NOT being one of them. I can NOT sleep. I went for a follow up yesterday and told the Dr. and he says it is not the medication - but I can't sleep! This goes on for 3 or four nights and then I just collapse. I wanted a quality of life, and my anxiety has diminished, but I feel lousy. It has been only 2 weeks. Has anyone else had a bad experience. The Dr. tells me to hang in there and give the meds time but OMG this trade off is terrible.
