Hi, I'm Meg. I'm 20 and a college student who suffers from awful anxiety. I've always had terrible anxiety/OCD, but I found ways to control it without medication. Unfortunately, some very triggering events are going on lately which have caused my anxiety to hit the roof. My father is going through a divorce, and he suffers from terrible anxiety himself, and I'm in a constant panic for his mental state worrying about his stability. Then, on top of it, I have a loved one who is currently incarcerated and seeing parole soon...Which is so nerve racking that I almost feel like i can't function! Also, I may have to move soon to a new state which I'm terrified of. Like I said, I've always struggled with anxiety, but since these things are occurring at once, it is becoming hard to bare with. I am currently on Xanax (Though I've tried out every other med in the book) Xanax is the only one that seems to work. I'm very careful though since I know it can be addicting. I'm also going to start taking vitamin b inositol to help with panic attacks. I also go to therapy so I have some support there...I just am glad I found these forums to connect with others going through the same struggle.

Thanks for reading all that and I'm so happy I found this site!

Hey Meg, i'm James
I only joined this site just now..

I'm 25 and live in Sydney Australia.

I'm very new to anxiety, has been with me since my first panic attack on 12 June this year and so far has completely overtaken my life.

I've been in another city for work and only just got back to Sydney and have only now been able to properly organise Doctors etc.

I'm also on Xanax however i've found that for my anxiety it doesn't seem to work, i found it made me feel weird in the head which made me panic more so i've stopped taking it.. i'm hoping to find another medication that will work.

Anyway.. thanks for reading.. private message me if you would like to message further.
Sounds like you're having a rough time of it, sorry to hear about your father and family member.

James
