Hello everyone
I've been a visitor of this site since early last month when I had a particularly bad week at work and went to my local medical drop in centre to say I was feeling very high strung, couldn't eat and felt physically sick.

The lady asked me about times in my life when I’ve had similar symptoms and I explained I was a 'worrier' by nature and get stressed out easily.

Then for the first time I had a name to put on this thing I thought I was the only one in the world to have....do you know how much easier and reassuring it was to know I’m not alone with this and that its treatable to a extent depending upon each individual case.

I'm still quite sceptical about taking Meds, so far I’ve tried a good old fashioned positive attitude which didn’t get me far, 2nd time I tried herbal remedy tablets that worked for a while but I don’t think you’re meant to drink when you take them so I ended up being sick at the end of the day which spoiled things lol.

I should also explain my symptoms are, quiet around people I don’t know, panic sweating, clammy hands, bad stomach pain, loss of appetite and nausea (the latter being the main problem I have and the one I want to fix the most)

From the research I’ve done about this so far it seems to say Beta Blockers would be the best meds to curb the physical symptoms of my anxiety....I just don’t want any bad side effect, to end up like a zombie, and not being able to light social drink one a week could be a problem.

I don't really know what my point is in posting this; I guess it’s just nice to have a non judgmental place where I can talk about this stuff.
The only person I’ve told about my anxiety is the girl I like who I’ve known for about 7 years, i had to tell her because I’m so scared of doing something wrong when I’m around her it causes me to panic and have to keep going to the bathroom to be sick which is pathetic I know.

She's being really cool about it and apparently has an 'avoidant personality disorder' or at least did have according to her school councillor lol....I mostly just want to get better so I can be normal around her....I’ll even take meds if I have too.

Anyway that’s my story and thank you if you did read all of the above....any advice and guidance would be appreciated as I am still very new to this.
