I have been taking 1mg of Ativan for aprox 5 years as needed. I have tapered myself down to only .5mg daily and I am not happy with the inter-dose symptoms. I would like to switch to a longer acting benzo. Is it possible that 2mg of Valium will be therapeutic for me ? My longer term plan is to get off this med but I am not ready for the unknown and possible symptoms lasting for months if not years into the future, I have read all kinds of horror stories of people going off these meds and never being the same again because of how they affect the GABA in our bodies.
