Hello everyone.....my name is Alvin
I'm 54 years old and was diagnosed with PTSD in 1984. I was in an explosion at a chemical plant and burned a little over 40% of my body. Since there were so many people that got hurt we were given the last rites in case we didn't make it through the night. That has stayed with me for 27 years and I have been waiting to die since. That is where my anxiety is coming from, I feel I'm living on borrowed time.

I work at a chemical plant "Dupont" and have been there for 30 years. My role at the plant is Area Leader and I have 40 people reporting to me so I also have stress from my job.

I'm married with one son and he is 28 years old. He was not an easy child to raise. He tried a little bit of everything and got himself in trouble at times.

How about if I give an answer like this.

I'm still here and able to post messages on this site.

Yes, it helped but I not going to say it was an easy 27 years. The biggest help I recieved is to have someone to talk to when things get really bad.

How are you doing with a year so far.

Alvin

Better. I've had anxiety as far back as I can remember. I was on St. John's Wort starting at age 10. I had "the breakdown" this time last year when I thought I was losing it. I'm almost 29. I guess I don't mind how long I need the therapy, as long as I see myself getting better, and my world growing, rather than being this little space of things I am willing to do and places I am willing to go. A listening ear is always wonderful for me as well.
