Trying to go off Effexor but really worry bout stopping...

This is my 4 year taking efexor and, as this does not work with my GAD, Im gonna take something different. I have tried quitting this med before but its so hard Im afraid I dont think I will be able to do it. Has anyone done this before. I was taking effexor for 3 years (most of the days I took 300 milograms) which is too much...

Has anyone know the consequensces of taking too much effexorÉÉÉÉ

I was on Effexor for a couple of years. The stuff did nothing for me but made me numb to everything. I stopped taking it cold turkey and it was a big mistake. I dont know if you have had brain shocks from the Effexor but the effects of quitting cold turkey from the pills was horrible. I had to go to my doctor twice while i was going through the withdrawal symptoms. I know I was miserable for at least 2-3 weeks. The doctor will need to ween you off the pills. Slowly so the side effects shouldn't be as intense. Hang in there, I know thats easier said than done but trust me from someone who has experienced it at its worst. Hope this helps!
