Looking for help. At the end of my rope here. Been on 4mg of clonazepam(pretty high dose) for 4 years and it no longer works. All anxiety symtpoms back, insomnia, tremors, ear ringing, frequent urination, etc. Feel like the meds have just been covering up a deeper problem. Have read that corisol and hydrocordisone and adrenaline, thyroid, may be the root here. Has anyone been tested for these levels, and what did you find and how were you treated?

I can't up the clonazepam, it will put me in a coma.

Any help/suggestions.

My husband was misdiagnosed for years too. He just had his adrenal gland removed because he had a pheochromocytoma which is a tumor that produces excess hormones. All his symptoms are gone, blood pressure is normal again, and he is very calm and relaxed. He had these blood tests performed by an endocrinologist. The tests the endocrinologist ran included:

24 hour urine test

CATECHOLAMINES FRACTION URINE

METANEPHRINE FRACTIONATION URINE FH

CORTISOL

DEHYDROEPIANDROSTERONE, SULFATE

BASIC METABOLIC PANEL FH

ALDOSTERONE SERUM

RENIN ACTIVITY

METANEPHRINE FRACTIONATED PLASMA FREE
