feeling hopeless about meds

I am so sick of these ssri meds. I've tried zoloft years ago and got all the side effects and no benefit. Now I'm on effexor for 2 days and I'm exhausted, and I hear it really kills your libido. At what cost am I expected to get better. Sleep all day, sexual disfunction, and I can look forward to severe withdrawal if I forget to take it, or try to get off it. I know it's only 2 days but it looks like the same thing all over again. For me, these meds just make me numb or sedate me, they don't seem to help my problems.

How long were you on the zoloft?? It has taken me a good month... over that a bit actually... to stop having the side effects of the SSRI. Even my sex drive has come back. I am on lexapro and I really love it. It has made a huge difference for me, but it has taken time to adjust for sure. Please just give it some time and relax. The side effects do get better. Your anxiety will most likely increase as well while you are adjusting, but if you give it time you will get through it and probably feel so much better.
