View Full Version : Cognitive behavioral
Hi I was wondering if anyone had tried cognitive behavioral therapy and if it worked for them. I am currently on Zoloft and want to find a way to go off it. It works for me but I am trying to be medication free... I want to have kids someday soon. Please let me know! Thanks :P

I haven't tried it, but I have a feeling that's what my therapist will be using when I start my sessions with him next week. I've heard mixed reviews, and that a combination of exercise, meds, and CBT works best.
I can relate to wanting kids though...my wife and I had been talking about it intensely right before this became a major issue in my life again, and my brother-in-law just had a baby yesterday that we went to see, so I feel a strong urge to get better.
I am hopefully optimistic! Let me know how things go with your new therapist! Hopefully you start feeling better immediatelY! I am also trying a new diet where I am attempting to cut out a lot of the sugar. Its been really hard though because I have such a sweet tooth! I am very excited for my appointment on Monday! I hope that this will finally allow me to handle my anxiety rather than letting it rule my life!

I have been in CBT for 7 months now & see a huge difference. I literally would panic just having to leave my house for anything!!! It really does start re-structuring your mind. There are lot of exercises they have you do, to expose you to your anxiety/panic, rather than trying to pretend it;s not there, which only makes it worse. I haven't been on medication at all. I am going to continue to go to CBT & continue to get better!! Let us know how your 1st meeting went. :D
