Hi all,

I'm new here and wanted to see if anyone has had any benefits with listening to calming music for their anxiety. I've been trying to focus my listening to calming classical and jazz music lately. I've also been listening a lot to Sourcetone. I find that clicking on Calm on their site and choosing the right style of music helps me a lot in the mornings when my stress level is through the roof!

Has anyone else had any success in listening to particular music or playing musical instruments as a way to lower their anxiety?

People have found that various types of music help them with anxiety disorder. However, from what I have seen, the exact type of music seems to be a rather personal thing. Some people (like yourself) find more relaxing music to be helpful. But others find metal to be helpful with anxiety disorder. So clearly, nothing is set in stone when it comes to the type of music which might be helpful for your anxiety. It's all a matter of what works for you.

i agree with Robbed that choice of music is all about personal preference. But for me as well classical piano completely relaxes me but before this happened i loved classical piano for years since i was little.

Also i have always loved music in generally and have been musically inclined for quite some time. I play piano and guitar and i love playing them and also they serve as a great distraction when i am thinking too much.

Main thing is its all about personal preference.

Best Wishes
