Hi,

I've decided I want to come off Lorazapam, I've been on it for over a year and for the past 6 months I've been taking 0.5mg at night. I saw my Doctor about a taper plan expecting him to prescibe Diazapam (this seems to be the recommneded route due to the longer halflife) however to my suprise he's gone for Lorazapam in liquid form, i didn't even know it came as a liquid. He reckons I should reduce by 0.5 ml every 2 weeks. Any thoughts on whether this is the best plan?

Thanks,

Toblerone.

Sounds logical to me. The liquid form is required because 0.5 mg per day is low and I doubt the tablets come in any smaller size than that. Maybe 0.25 mg.

I don't know from personal experience, but I would suspect that you should do well with this. Again...because 0.5 mg per day is a low dose of lorazepam.
