I developed an anxiety problem this year after a relationship break up. My symptoms fit somewhere between panic and GAD.
I was initially on 15mgs of Avanza, primarily to help me sleep. When the anxiety didn't improve, my Doc eventually suggested I switch to Lexapro, I am currently on 15 mgs. I still get anxiety and am a bit confused about what to do med-wise and had a couple of questions.
1. If I'm still getting anxiety, is there anyway to know whether this means the meds are not working at all? If they are not, then I'd rather go off them and not have to worry about side effects. But if they are reducing the anxiety then I would want to stay on them.
2. I'm not convinced that the Lexapro is working any better than the Avanza was, but Lexapro has more side effects (sweating and headache). I am considering going back on to Avanza, maybe at 30 mgs. I was wondering how people go with tiredness during the day on Avanza? I was more tired when I was taking Avanza than I am now on Lexipro, but that might just be because I am sleeping better.
I am discussing all this with my doc but I'm interested in any experiences other have had.
Thanks.
