Okay, so I don't know why I never thought of joining an anxiety forum years ago. It's great!
A little bit about myself.
25 year old male and have had bad anxiety since I was 18.
Symptoms:
Dry mouth
compulsive worry
Upset Stomach
Loss of apetite
Head Aches
Stress
Cold hands/feet
Panic Attacks
Anxiety is one crazy ride. One minute you feel fine, the next you are convinced you are dying.. haha :) - It's good to know other people feel this way, not that I'm glad people have to suffer with it, but it's good to hear others experiences.
I look forward to learning about many of you, and helping one another. Because the best medicine is knowledge. The more I learn about anxiety and how it functions the better I cope with it.
Remember, that things could always be worse :D

Hi Knawx,
After reading a few of your posts I was happy to notice that you seem somewhat similar to me (although quite a bit younger  ) in that you've kept up your sense of humour and optimism. I regard us as quite fortunate for not being afflicted with depression along with our anxiety. As much as the disorder is disabling at times, it's a big part of us, of who we are, and I wouldn't trade myself with anyone.
I agree with you, the best medicine is knowledge. As they say, knowledge is power. I also share your philosophy that things could always be worse - - strange, I know, how can anything be worse than an attack? Well, between you and me kiddo, we're doin' just fine in this pretty little world, aren't we? Yah. We'll get through it. We're doin' alright. Life is good and it keeps on getting better. ;)

Definitely, it helps to keep your spirits up. I mean, everyone gets down and depressed. It's natural, only some have it worse than others. Same goes for anxiety.
I just figure that my anxiety is here to stay and I can either choose to live in fear for the rest of my life, or I can choose to learn from it.
I know that I will always have issues with it, but I have most certainly chosen the path of knowledge and education on the matter.
Anxiety generally is found in people who are very smart, or creative which is sad because the anxiety can make them want to shy away from learning, and can make them not want to seek answers.
I'm sure it's different for everyone, but having a place like this where we can all talk about it is amazing.

It's good to hear that other people are trying to see their experiences with anxiety in a positive way! It can be a tough time, that's for sure, but the way we look at things greatly effects the way we deal with them.

Hey Knawx,
Hows it going? Like the other guy said above, you remind me of me a little although in this instance im a bit younger than you!
Welcome to the forum and stuff, im new as well so i hope we both get out of it what we need, and give back to those who may benefit from our experiances.
Interesting what you are saying about knowledge re anx though. I find that its only when im feeling really bad that i feel an almost compulsive need to find out more about the subject. sometimes when i give in to that need it feels like i am only feeding the anx within me...guess everyones different though.
Anyway, good luck with everything,
Ollie
