Hi ! I;n MB ?I have had depression since the birth of my 25 year old son and had a 4 year remission until December 2008 when I stopped sleeping. I became very anxious and afraid of driving in the bad Wisconsin weather in addition to other life stresses that year. Had no insurance and couldn't see a county pdoc until April. So my primary care doctor tried me on Celexa, Prozac, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and Xanax. I became quite sick from all of those meds and didn't respond to anything. Finally in February I found a pdoc and literally gave him my savings account for one session. He started me on Mirtazapine and Ativan. They helped me sleep but didn't do much for the anxiety and depression during the day. He raised me to 30 mg of Mirtazapine and the anxiety increased quite a lot (yet another paradoxical reaction). Then I got laid off April 9 and my anxiety and depression have really revved up. I have become afraid to look for a job, I have unemployment until September, to interview, lately to even leave the house although I am forcing myself to go out every day. I now have to take the .5 Ativan twice a day. The Ativan is the only thing that stops the thoughts. My self esteem is very low, thinking is foggy and I am anxious and sad all the time. :cry:
