Recently my heart has started beating a little harder and with less focus than normal. When I put my hand on my heart, a focused beat comes from just one small area, whereas an unfocused beat covers a much larger area or feels more spread out than usual.
I first got the harder unfocused beat after drinking too much coffee, but it returned to normal after a few (anxious) hours. About 23 days ago it started again, and beats like this almost all the time, even when I'm resting only lighter. When laying down I sometimes get what feels like a heart flutter, and I'm getting this all checked out by a doctor right now, but tests are coming back normal.
Does anyone else get this? Is this a common symptom of anxiety? How long have you had it?
