High On Axiety

Hi all, my name is Rafi, I am a 35 year old man who did not know what axiety is until 2 months ago.
Here a bit of history about myself.

I have been working in the high tech sector for about 12 years, I used to troubleshoot electronic circuit boards and for the last 2 years I have a desk job troubleshooting entire networks (extremely stressful).

Around last Nov, I noticed when I watch TV and if there are fast moving images or the camera is going in circles, I couldn't watch it.

Early December, right before I was about to go to bed, I hit my forehead on the table very hard which caused my neck to snap, instant headache. went to bed, in the morning I tried turning from one side to another and the entire room started spining violently.
Over the next 4 days, I was getting weaker and weaker till I was at work and I though I was having a heart attack. I felt as if my heart was about to go through my chest. Went to the hospital and for the next 2 weeks, I had constant violent attacks which kept sending me to the hospital, finally they said that I am suffering from extreme anxiety.

BTW, did MRI and CT scan and both came back fine, as well as saw a heart doctor and all the test results came back fine.

So, my family doctor started me on Effexor and over a month period, I reach 150mg of effexor + 1mg of lorazapam. Late January, I slowly took myself of Lorazapam. However, I was still taking effexor first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. That caused me to be very drowzy and light headed.
I was seening improvement until I got couple mild attacks that were not as severe as the original ones.
My doctor decided to increase my effexor to 225mg.

I noticed that all my anxiety attacks happen when I am at work.

So, I have been on 225mg for the past 2 weeks, two days ago, I was at working trying to solve a tough issue when I got an extreme attack which it was almost as bad as the first one I ever got.
Again today, I was working on the same problem when I got another attack which is still going.

So, I decided to google axiety and I found this forum.

Couple helpful hints.

Take Effexor in the morning with food, and it will take the drowzeness and lightheaded feeling away.
Effexor will mess around with your sleep, I haven't had a good night sleep.
Effexor will definitley mess around with your sex life if your are a man, not sure if females have similar side effects.

I don't want to go back to my doctor and tell him that I got few anxiety attacks since I have been on the 225mg as I am pretty certain he will increase the dosage.

I never had axiety attacks to my knowledge, and all the sudden I am having problems to deal with my work.

Any advise on how to co-op with this is greatly appreciated. I have been seeing a therapist and with very little help.

My doctor asked to buy a book called "The feeling good handbook" by Dr. Burns, so far this has proven the best with dealing with my axiety.

I am jogging few days a week and it helps.

O, by the way, I clinch my Jaw very hard which at some times my jaw and teeth hurts, I try to relax but then my Jaw tightens again.

My apologizes for this long post, but I did not feel like leaving any details out.

Thank you for your time.

Rafi
