I am curious to find out from those of you who practice CBT, does the method encourage acceptance/acknowledgement of emotion or does it lean more to suppression/avoidance?

not in my experience. Now i can do so much more without a worry, the events that cause anxiety become regular events and so dont cause any more panic. Requires Heaps of determination and wil power but when ur as desperate as me to get over it u do what u need to.
