View Full Version : Has anyone experienced something similar?

Sleep is very important to me, however, whenever I go to sleep, I wake up after two hours and focus on breathing through my nose. If I can't breath clearly through both nostrils I just freak right out. My heart starts beating fast and I break out into a sweat. I have to get up and leave the room to calm down which I eventually do. I hate living like this every night and I can't explain it. Can anyone help me? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hey Milo,

I have the exact same problem. My anxiety is all related to my breathing because that seemed to be the main focus of my first panic attack. I too have to be able to breathe clearly or I freak right out. However, I find it helps just to re-assure yourself that you can't die from anxiety and that the worst that'll happen is that you'll pass out and your body will take over from there.

And we're both from Ottawa, what are the chances of that?

Is this a night time/sleeping issue for you? I feel part of my problem is that I put too much weight on being able to sleep properly.
