Welp, hello everyone. I am a fellow anxiety sufferer. Been diagnosed for a year and a half now. I've taken two different prescriptions, leaving them both after they made me feel worse. I've had a couple of months of calm in between, but most of this time (as right now) I've spent anxious and/or depressed. I'm here seeking help and friends who can relate.
Other than that I'm an independent filmmaker from Colombia. Very nice to meet you all.

Welcome to this forum, friend!
I’m sorry to hear about your struggles. I know it’s not easy to go through anxiety and depression. They’re very complex that deserve personal and in-depth attention. Are you seeing a therapist/counselor? A caring professional would be in an excellent position to help you to cope up with your struggles. Please know that we all care about you and are here to support you. Sending prayers & wishing you well!

Thanks a lot! Well, I haven't been seeing one for some time, but I do have an appointment for next week. Thanks again for your well wishes!

I was referred to a social worker who specializes in verbal therapy to let me explain my anxiety issues and their causes. They are not legally certified to prescribe medications so I have to refer to my doctor for those. However, my doctor says I am doing fine and I am dealing with my anxiety without medication, but I feel like it would be a huge help since I am having employment struggles and feeling depression symptoms due to feeling like I am worthless because I am not doing anything with my life due to my fears. I have heard that medications can make you feel worse, but it may be as simple as needing to switch medications. How do you deal with the more positive days?

If you really feel like you can't cope with your anxiety on your own, and think medication would help, you should tell your doctor just that. I think that would be enough for him to change his mind if you outright tell him you really need that extra help to cope.
How do you deal with the more positive days? - don't know what you mean by this. I just wish I had more of those, lol. Though those days tend to be the ones when I'm the most busy and productive, so, yeah, I try working on myself, on meaningful things for my life really does help me stay better - just staying busy for the sake of not thinking I feel just makes things worse, because that's just running away from the anxiety...
