The first thing you need to understand is that this anxiety can be treated. A lot of anxietys are learnt from the fear of something. Dealing with anxiety most commonly involves un-learning and reducing these fears that you have. Its a process known as cognitive behavioral therapy. It would probably best to ask your psychiatrist to be referred to someone who specialises in this field. It's an excellent way to change your thought process and combat anxiety. I hope this helps.
