Duloxetine any experience?

Has anyone been prescribed Duloxetine? My GP believes it will help my GAD and I just wondered if anyone else has been on it and what their experience was/is with this drug.

Hi Andy,

I haven't been on Duloxetine but I googled it and it's the same class of meds as Effexor, which I have been on. They're similar to the SSRIs (Prozac, Zoloft etc). My main experience with these meds is that they initially increase the anxiety but if you hang in there for a few weeks (the longest I've waited is about 8 weeks) they definitely help. The first time I went on Prozac I couldn't believe the difference it made. But yeah, a lot of people say they feel worse at first, unfortunately.

I've been on it for a while, but honestly, it's been so long I cannot tell you what it actually did for me. I realize this isn't really helping, I can't say my side effects are bad from it. Iirc, it replaced one of my other medications, it might've been Zoloft.
