Hi all, just stumbled across this forum and it looks like just the place I need.
I struggle with severe anxiety and depression which is also affecting my physical health. Mostly I have the symptoms of an over active bladder which on top of everything else has led me to serious thoughts of suicide.
I am extremely lucky that I have a fantastic counsellor who is now seeing me twice a week and a very understanding and patient GP.
We are hoping to get me into a week long respite for those who feel suicide is the only option left so I'm desperately hanging on for that.
Hope to find some solace here in the meantime.
Thanks xx

Very pleased you found us Andy. You seem to have the spirit for recovery. I find that quite inspiring. I'm sure your councler does as well. Please do keep us posted about your prgress. That respite center sounds like a very helpful place.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for joining us. :)

Hi Andy,

I'm new here too. I'm glad you found a counselor who has been very good to you. I learned how amazing and helpful it can be, through my counselor at school, as I found we got along really well.

I hope you start to feel better. I've had your feelings several times and know what it's like. Again, having a good counselor for these kinds of issues is a great first step in reducing your feelings of anxiety, in my experience.

I know my advice might be a bit generic, but try to do something that calms you. I've found that going for a bike ride is always nice for me, to go to a park where it's quiet and peaceful.

I give you my best wishes. Welcome to the forum. :)

Welcome to the forum. It is very disturbing when I hear thoughts of suicide. I am confident you will get through this and your thoughts of
suicide will pass.

Thank you all for your kind welcome.
Booked my meditation/anxiety retreat. A big country house in Devon :D
They have full days of meditation and mindfullness as well as country walks and home cooked meals.
I've got four days of (hopefully) peace to look forward to.
My councillor is almost as exited as me!
I'm hoping this is the start of the turning point I've been desperately looking for.
