So my doctor told me that I have depression and put me on some pills . What happened is I started getting aggressive while I were driving and almost pushed a car or 2 out of my way in front off me when they drive badly . But then I will end up swearing at them and I do have passengers whiff me . so the other day there were a accident and the traffic standing still .and I just lost it and drove right over the pavement into a other road with out even looking or warring of other cars . After I while I thought what just happened and I started getting emotional . I went to the doctor and she told me its depression and work stress and booked me off for a weak . Now I am back at work but just don't have any interest to do any thing . I were lined up for a 12th month training course but got so afraid to start it so I asked to postpone it for a year . Its like I suddenly lost interest in every thing .

Hi Kobus, I'm in a very similar situation. I started growing aggressive and grumpy most of the time but as I work from home, I didn't really notice it. It built up and eventually manifested in a mental breakdown where I lost all sense of reality and was contemplating suicide. That's perhaps further than you got to but I'm now back at work and finding it very difficult to be interested or motivated which isn't great when you know you have to pay the bills! For me, I'm considering a career change and a new start - still doing the same type of work but in a new environment with less pressure and the thought of that is getting me through the days at the moment. It's easier said than done but I figure it's worth a try to potentially get some interest and happiness back in my life after a couple of years of a downward spiral. Perhaps a career change is something you could consider?

Hi Gchalliss
I thought off a career change as well but have this job now only for 2 years and here in SA its difficult to get a job if you are white now days . before this I were a technical fitter and worked with my hands but got then arteritis in my wrists and thumps so now I manage 2 production lines that have lots off pressure on the out put performance . I just have to find a way to get my will power back and be positive again .
Many people get aggressive while driving, so you are not alone. Try not to be too hard on yourself as I would view this as a
temporary bump in the road and you will get over this.

Kobus, is having little or no interest in anything something new for you, or have you dealt with it in the past? If so, what did you do to start having interest in things again?

Don't quote me on it, but I heard some depression medications actually list depression of sorts as a side effect. If you want to chill at the wheel but still yell at some noob drivers, you might as well try to make yourself laugh with their/your remarks :P Have you tried to manage without the pills before leading up to your doctor's visit? Perhaps it's not everything ever you are losing or have lost interest in, but just the small cabinet of junk that you don't like. Don't be afraid to, when you get the chance, explore other options and see where it takes you :)
