hey i'm 18 and my dad passed away a couple of months ago, i seemed to be fine for the first couple of months but recently i started to get really bad pains in my head, sort of like headaches but they would only last a few minutes.
obviously with the stress of everything i was put on diazepam for a short period, but i still get this pain and i have a fear about what it is, i cant stop thinking about it. ive not really talked to anyone, it seems silly and people dont really understand but i feel vunerable, like death is so real, does it sound like a have anxiety or could it be something else?

Hello! It could be anxiety or it could be that you've just had a lot to cope with. Losing a parent so young isn't easy and I think that anybody would stuggle to cope!
Really sorry for your loss x

Hello!
Firstly I am so so sorry to hear about your dad. It is obviously a very tough, traumatic time for you and I really do feel for you. It probably is anxiety due to what you have gone and are going through. I find that when I am really stressed I get sharp shooting stabbing pains in my head. When I am not stressed I dont ever get them. It is similar to how some people get headaches when they get really upset. Please talk to someone who you feel you can confide in about how you are feeling. It isnt silly at all about how you are feeling. No one will think you are silly at all. How you are feeling is very important. Could you go back and visit your gp and have a chat and let him know how you are feeling? He/She will be able to put your mind at rest. You have been and are going through a traumatic time and at such a young age too, and it is probably this trauma which is causing the pains. Maybe you could ask your gp too about grief counselling if you feel that would help you in anyway? I really hope things improve for you.
