I haven't tried it personally, but I do have a workbook on the subject called "Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life" which is pretty good.

I've read some of The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris, which my psych recommended and is about ACT, and was pretty impressed. My psych said he prefers Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to CBT. I like the idea that negative feelings are completely normal and humans have evolved to SURVIVE rather than be happy and feel good, which Harris talks about early in the book. I haven't finished it though or worked through all the exercises because I'm lazy lol.

ACT makes more sense to me than CBT which is based s bit too much on rationality and reams of data. Given a choice I'd go for ACT

Ok, I'm reading The Happiness Trap again (I'm a third of the way through). It really is very good. Thanks for reminding me about ACT, barbimay :)

Having read some of your recent posts, I think ACT sounds like the right type of therapy for you. It deals with separating pain from suffering, the latter of which is largely avoidable.

I actually have the digital copy of the book Brilliant Side mentioned. If you PM me, I'll dig it out and upload it for you. That's if your reading list isn't already overwhelming!
