Hi everyone
Among a lot of other things, I get anxious when my children are out at night (. tend to catastrophise). I am thinking, if I practice deep breathing/meditation or relaxation and persist long enough, will it eventually put me to sleep? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Hi Barbara :)

It'll put you to sleep if you persist for a week lol. But seriously, it can help you fall asleep for sure.. I try to keep in mind that even if I don't actually go to sleep, just relaxing and resting is better than being all anxious and frustrated. So you take the pressure off yourself and think "I'll just rest" rather than "I must sleep".

Cheers,

Thank you so much for your reply Gypsy
I also fear not sleeping, so relaxing helps. GAD is a tricky thing. I have often thought...just take the occasional sedative..
Thanks again
