Hello Everyone,

Im Gemma and Im 18 from the UK

I have suffered with anxiety for the past 10 years, first i had a school phobia which developed in to GAD.

I am on tablets for my condition which help a lot, i take escitolopram 20mg.

I have a lot of symptoms with my anxiety, here are a few..

Constant Fear of Dying
Constant Fear of having a fatal illness
Constant Fear of going to sleep in case i dont wake up
Short of breath and feeling like im not taking enough air in.
Headaches
Mouth Ulcers and Sore Throat
Nausea

The symptoms above are what i would say are constant and never go.

Does anyone else have these, or similar symptoms, and how do you deal with them?

I would love to talk to you all about ur anxiety and maybe we can help each other.

Love Gemma xx

I share all your symptoms (except for mouth ulcers), as well as some others.

The constant fear of dying, having a fatal illness, and going to sleep incase I don't wake up are the worst. I'm driving everyone around me crazy.

A few years back I had anxiety attacks a lot. I somehow got better for a while but they've recently come back, only much worse this time. I actually went to the ER the other day because I was convinced I was having a heart attack.

Because of the anxiety, I haven't been sleeping (too afraid to fall asleep) and have lost my appetite...and somehow I expect myself to feel good? No wonder I feel sick all the time, you know?

I've been trying to relax as much as possible. I've been drinking a tea called "tension tamer" and it really does have a nice calming effect. I also try to calm down by taking a nice warm bath. I'm working on breathing and relaxation techniques...but it's hard to get used to the relaxation part...my body is constantly tense!

My Dr. prescribed Xanax. I've only taken it 3 times so far. Each time it seemed to help a little.

I hope you get better and can find something that helps!
