Hi,
I was one Celexa for 2 months and have been unable to get out of depression. So I decided to see a different Psychiatrist and she prescribed me Mirtazapine. Has anyone had any experience with this medication? If so, what have been your thoughts?

Hi there,
Yes I've been on this. It was good for helping me sleep but didn't help with depression. Mind you, I think I was still drinking then. But the SSRIs have worked better for me.
Cheers,

Thanks for your input gypsylee. I really hope this helps with my depression as the SSRIs were doing nothing for me.
I think I might quit drinking for a little but, mind you I only go out drinking once a week or so.

You're welcome :) I hope it works for you. As I say, I remember it being good as a sleep aid, which in itself can help a lot with anxiety/depression. I didn't have any bad effects from it either, it just wasn't as effective as the SSRIs for me.
I was drinking a lot more than once a week  but yeah it might be worth giving it up altogether.
I asked my wife who is a pharmacist and she said it formerly was just used for depression, but it is now also being prescribed a sleep aid.
