Hi, I am a 55 year old female. I have some OCD issues, some PTSD issues and suffer from hyperacusis, extreme sensitivity to sounds. Several years ago I had a sub arachnoid haemorrhage, bleed at the base of my brain, and that is when my panic and anxiety attacks started, plus it made other things worse and left me with a few other medical issues. My problem seems to lie in that medication doesn't help since it was caused by the bleed. I am not sure how other peoples issues present but for me when it hits I go from being anxious to trying to kill myself. Some maybe from hormones I am on to try and prevent cancer, but I have always suffered bouts of depression and have tried to kill myself twice when I was younger. I can not seem to find the right thing that works for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated and maybe just knowing that I am not the only person to feel this way would help.
Thank you all.

Hi Gingerfur (I like your name) and welcome :)

I'm 43, female. I don't really have the same thing (certainly not the haemorrhage) but I've had severe anxiety and depression my whole life. I think I might have Borderline Personality Disorder actually. Whatever it is, I'm not very well adjusted to this world lol.

Anyway, I hope you find some help here.

Cheers,
Gypsy x

Hi GingerFur. CLEAN FOOD is my main medicine as well as other healthy lifestyle changes. Movement, seeking out what rates as positive experiences for me - no matter how depressed I feel. Positing in a number of forums and having an online dairy I find really helps.

I'm glad you found this forum and hope it helps.

Thanks Ponder, I am thinking that maybe being able to talk to other people with similar conditions may help a little. My eating habits have changed a lot since becoming a diabetic and I lost a lot of weight with it so in that way I feel a lot better.

I had a client many years ago who had the same thing happen to her and she had to be taught to speak and do certain daily activities again.
She eventually was well enough to go back to work as she was only in her 30's and she said work was therapeutic for her. Her personality
did change as did her writing, etc. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi and welcome. I can't say I know how you're feeling, but I sympathize with you. My emotions tend to flip like a lightswitch, going from laughing to crying to being irritable or anxious all in the same breath. I've also had a sensitivity to sounds and lights ever since mold exposure (in 2008), but it comes and goes depending on how much else is affecting me at the time. Have you heard of Dr. Daniel Amen? His focus is on brain health, and his site is AmenClinics.com. I've never tried his supplements, but I found a couple of his books to be helpful.

I hope you find what you need!

Thank you Kirk, I seem to have been luckier than she was. I have been this way for seven years now.
