Hey all. I've been taking Zoloft 50 mg for two weeks now for depression and OCD, but the sleeplessness factor is a big problem. When I don't get sleep, I get anxiety and my OCD goes through the roof. Now I get these awful thoughts when entering bed (on the second floor) and I can't sleep with them. I have to leave the house in the middle of the night to "cleanse them", reenter and try to go to bed again. It's now taking me 3-6 hours to get to bed each night :(

The doc wants me to go up to 100 mg, but won't that make the sleepiness and hence OCD worse? I'm very close to moving my bed right near the front door to lessen the time and exhaustion. Any thoughts would be appreciated :(

Hey again. I took 100 mg Zoloft and the sleepiness got worse. I had these awful de-realization episodes in the night and barely got any sleep. They were so scary :( Stuff you'd reject $25,000 for. I went back to 50 mg and took Trazadone and it gave me like twelve hours of dreamy sleep, but still with de-realization. Now I'm afraid I really screwed myself up. I really need someone to talk to about this. Please PM me. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone here :(

Hey can you talk here? I don't like PMs on this site but can send you one if you really want :)

Edit: Googled Trazodone and kind of thinking no wonder you're freaking out..

I googled it for two weeks before taking it. I heard it went well with Zoloft. In fact, it's given me the only sleep I've had in a month! I'm just wondering if it's adverse effects will get better now.

Trazodone is used often for sleep.

I've never used it or heard of it, so it might be one of those country specific things.

Anyway, the situation doesn't sound very good. I think there's an SSRI that's used for OCD but it's not Zoloft.

I am sorry you are feeling so poorly. Be sure to keep in touch with your physician and let him/her know how you are
doing. If necessary, consult with another health care professional. You will need to do whatever is necessary to get
your life back on track.
