Hello All,

So, where to begin? First, let me say that I am positive that I have anxiety. I am a "worry wort" by nature and I am always worried about something.

What I am hoping someone can help me out with are my physical problems that none of my Drs seem to be able to put a finger on and more than one Dr has told me is anxietyThis may be a bit long so please bare with me!

It is difficult to explain exactly when and how my original symptoms started, but I will do my best to give a clear timeline and a list of past and current symptoms.

These attacks have been recurring since 2012. The first symptoms I noticed were shooting pains in my shins. I just kind of chalked it up to work related issues. I then had incredibly tight muscles in my abdomen , and strong bouts of diarrhea. The diarrhea would contain mucus and often looked like steatorrhea. I also noticed a host of other symptoms including: shooting pains in back, legs and eyes. My worst symptom was extremely strong epigastric pain. I went to my GP and he ran several tests. The only thing that they could come up with was that it was my gallbladder. I had my gallbladder removed. ( I think my gallbladder was fine! )
Nearly a year later I developed the same issues. I told my GP and GI doctor and they sent me to a Rheumatologist who ran ANA tests which came back negative. I lived with the issues for a long while and then they seemed to go into remission. In the spring of 2013 I had a very strong attack. It developed with a strong headache that seemed like my neck was swelling, cardiac symptoms ( irregular heart rate and fluctuating blood pressure ), the same GI symptoms as previous, pains in my body, and very bad muscle twitching and spasms. I went to several DRs and had quite a bit of blood work and imaging done with no results. Eventually the symptoms seemed to resolve on their own.
In 2014 I was essentially symptom free. In 2015 I noticed some odd pain only symptoms. In the summer I started having strong pain in my rectum almost like swelling. This seemed to self resolve.
The latest “flare” started essentially the same as the flare in 2013. In May I started having VERY strong headaches. The headaches were so powerful that it felt like my eyes were going to pop out, and my ears would plug up. Immediately after these headaches started I began having all over body pains again. Sharp shooting pains in my legs, head, back, rib cage, arms, etc. Muscle twitching and spasms. I also began having GI symptoms again. On top of this I was also having sinus symptoms. Sore throat, sinus headache, and frequent sneezing. These symptoms carried on for a month, and then the pains in my legs began to turn into very deep constricting pains rather than stabbing pains. I also had my cardiac symptoms return. My heartbeat has become irregular again, and I developed bradycardia.
The pain in my legs has not subsided and is very intense. My muscles have become so weak that even minimal exertion makes my muscles quiver. I have also developed what seems to be circulatory issues. My hands and feet are always cold, and when I stand or sit for too long my toes and feet start to get purple. I also have very slow capillary refill time in my hands and feet.

My Dr’s here seem completely lost. I have been through 3 Rheumatologists, 3 primary care Dr’s, a neurologist, endocrinologist, ENT, opthamologist, cardiologist, and a podiatrist. None of them seem to have any idea what is happening to me, and the worst part is that there is almost zero coordination effort between any of them. I feel like I am going to get strong along for months and months until some permanent damage is done. I have been going to Drs for 4 months with no answers and more symptoms by the day. I even put in an application at the Mayo Clinic and they turned me down. They said that cases like mine tend to not have a clear resolution and that they choose not to help me.

These symptoms seem to me to be pretty strong to be anxiety but I could be wrong! Please let me know if you have ever had or heard of any of this kind of stuff...

Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum. I am very sorry you are feeling so poorly. Anxiety can cause all kinds of terrible symptoms such as diarrhea, headaches,
dizziness, heart palpitations, abdominal pain and the list goes on. My internal medicine physician told me that if the shoe does not drop than odds are
what you have is not serious, but just anxiety related.

Hey and welcome here..

Wow, my racing heart and sweating seem mild compared to this.

I don't have much faith in the medical profession - my mum ended up in a wheelchair and it took months of tests, doctors, specialists and hospital to work out she needed a double hip replacement. Anxiety can cause all sorts of stuff but what you describe sounds pretty bad.

I hope you find some comfort here at least.
