Hey guys, I'm new here. In fact, I just made this account around 5 minutes ago. I am on another site that helps me with anxiety, some of you may heard of it. DailyStrength. Anyway, I'm getting desperate here.

I'm only 19 and I'm not able to make new friends, meet new people, or generally have fun like people my age are doing. All my friends invite me out to meet other people they're hanging out with and it's just not possible for me right now. I'm going to be honest- I do smoke weed, but it doesn't help with my anxiety. It's never made it worse like it has for some people, but a lot of people claimed it would help with my social anxiety. It has not and I've tried SEVERAL different strains so please don't offer that as a suggestion! I have already tried it for the use of anxiety but that's just not something it does for me personally.

Anyway, it's not possible for me to get health insurance right now and I was wondering if there are any kinds of natural remedies, like certain herbs or things of that nature that could help me that any of you have tried? I am open to taking things in pill form, like I have heard of Valerian Root pills... have those worked for anyone here?

I'd just like something until I am insured and am able to go to the doctor and therapy. If it works though, maybe I will stick to it?
Thanks in advance everyone!

I would talk to a natural pharmacist or physician and ask their recommendation.

Hey Salamanther,

What I have on those topics may be viewed at:

HERBAL ANXIOLYTICS: http://anxietyforum.net/forum/showthread.php?34269-5-Powerful-Tools-You-Probably-Haven-t-Tried-Yet&p=225415#post225415

NON HERBAL NATURAL (NON PHARMACEUTICAL) ANXIOLTYICS: (5-htp, etc.) http://anxietyforum.net/forum/showthread.php?34355-Help-Please!!!/page2

They affect people differently; there is no predicting, so it's trial and error, but generally they should be used temporarily, while using the therapies, like training wheels on a bicycle.

SOCIAL ANXIETY: http://anxietyforum.net/forum/showthread.php?33912-My-SA-Dealing-with-thoughts-of-judgement&p=223666#post223666

The Roman army used to give valerian to soldiers before battle, so they could sleep. Some people get valerian "hangovers".
