Hi all:
What to say here, I was searching online for a place for those dealing with anxiety, and this looks nice and calm. I'm hoping to possibly make some new friends here. I'm really shy and have social phobia, I don't go out unless I absolutely have to these day and have no friends. I am extremely isolated and sometimes go a week or more without talking to anybody whatsoever. I'm bipolar and have a difficult time socializing, but feel more comfortable online rather than in real life. I hope to be able to contribute here and help others when I can.
Thank you for reading.

Thank you for the welcome!
I don't know that I would say it gets worse as you get older, I think I've learned to better deal with anxiety as I've aged, and have become more self aware and accepting of myself. I suppose we should find a way to find happiness, and do our best to manage our symptoms so they impact our daily lives the least. I'm not sure how well I'm managing since I've been off medication, but my body needs this break from the poison.

Hi there, welcome! Most people in this forum have experienced SA at some point in their life. We are/were all in the same boat and we all want to beat it. I had SA for 20+ years and have just recently felt confident enough to say that I've almost overcome SA (maybe at 90% here). I've started a blog and written about my own personal tips to overcome SA and a review on a helpful audio book (called "The Shyness and Social Anxiety System" written by a guy that also went through SA). You can check it out in my signature. This forum is pretty supportive so if you have any problems, come and share. Best wishes!
