I buy in large amounts and even when I lose I still run back and buy more scratch tickets. I will never go to the casino again I went once. Even if I win I take the money and will buy more tickets. I don't think I am developing an issue but my mom is mad that I cannot stop buying them. I might be getting anxiety over whether I win or lose so I keep buying tickets. It is a dangerous cycle. Oh I took a little survey on this site called www.knowyourlimit.ca and I got you are risk for developing an addiction. But I cannot stop anyone else who has or had an addiction to gambling feel like me?

I have a very addictive personality and as such refuse to even entertain the idea of gambling because I know where it would lead.

take a look at your own personality and try and see if you are prone to addictive streaks, if you suspect already that it's becoming problematic, it may be time to put your foot down and stop while you still can.

In my opinion, this is one of the worst addictions. You need to STOP now. That's a warning sign that you cannot stop yourself from buying them. Instead of wasting your money, save it and do something you enjoy with it. I'm with your mom on this one. Get some help from a therapist if you need to. You already have an anxiety issue so you certainly don't need to complicate that with gambling too!!!

I am glad someone can be open-minded about doing this as a guilty pleasure.

It is similar to drugs! I used to smoke and they constantly asked me do I want scratch tickets it was not until I quit I started playing to replace smoking (I smoked out of boredom) I started scratch tickets out of boredom too. I doubt I will be a pathological gambler but yes I started telling my therapist that I like to gambling frequently I spend a fair bit of money on Scratch tickets in the hopes I win money. I do suffer from depression and anxiety too most people who gamble do have mental disorders. And mothers are almost always right. But gambling is only an addiction if you keep losing the more you lose the worst the addiction is but the fact you have to spend so much is the worst part and once you start playing you want the money back that you lost.

I would advice to people, not to be too serious. Life is tough and serious we do not have to be.
