Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself.

This is my first time on the forum or any health forum for that matter. I have been struggling with GAD and depression for 14 years but have seen 5or 6 Psychiatrists and therapists, each, over the years, along with attending many support groups. I look forward to sharing, empathizing and learnig with others.

First comes the thoughts (in the beginning...). Beginning with an incipient scare, conditioning, shock, trauma, or beliefs, long ago. Second comes the recurrent negative thoughts over the years starting with early childhood and a high rate of mental absorption. Third comes the manifestation of a disorder in line with the original belief. Fourth comes the reaching out to peers for help. Fifth comes the realization you must help yourself. Sixth comes the examination and recapitulation of your life to find the mental causes and repressed energies (the incipient belief from step one). Seventh comes compassion, empathy, and healing to the degree that a firm decision is made to heal. Eight comes teaching others and being of service. Ninth comes moving on in your life with no connection of any sort to the original issues. You can still hold compassion and love for others on the same journey, but the attraction to the disorder is gone, just like before it's onset, no longer on automatic, subservient to false ideas about life, your body, and who you are. You are edified.

Where are you in the process?

Wow this is a great understanding Im-Suffering. Is it yours? I would love to look further into it but then again I can see all the answers are there. I have never come across it before but logically and wholeheartedly I say yes, those are the steps I have been through and am going through. Can they over lap? I feel like currently I am at 6, doing a lot of work with my inner child and reassuring him that I am here for him, he is safe, he is not in danger, and those dangerous beliefs are false. Everything is fine I tell him but I can also identify with the calling of those from 7 through 8 too. Also I feel setbacks, back all the way down to two, but they shorten over time.

I know where you are yes, by your OP. You'll make it afterall. Since the words are mine I cannot refer you to further reading, but you got the message. Just remember to be kind to you, no matter where you are in life and any process, game, or drama. You are learning self love and acceptance, you see, and to problem solve without rumination, trusting in your abilities and your good beliefs to ultimately win if you will. Remember, see the good too, because those are your good beliefs at work.
